This edit by Mitchell Macrae chronicles the adventures of Brisbane’s own Paulie Haack, Rob Kellett (pictured below), Gerard Ahrens and Jamie Sims, plus internationals Oliver Czaja, AJ Stine, Marc Gyver, Benjamin Hudson, Diego Galdames Salazar and Denis Gul.

From the streets of an abandoned city in Tianjin to the epic skate park that is Beijing Woodward, it’s killer showcase of both blading and their adventures in the People’s Republic. For all the pictures from the trip, click here.

SEBA Street present the official CJ Wellsmore Pro Model interview: edit by Dom West

CJ Wellsmore 10th anniversary

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/139586767″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]CJ Wellsmore has just dropped a new video interview to celebrate the release of his 10th Anniversary Pro Models from SEBA Street.

The new skates are basically a re-skin of his original pro models, with an updated liner, side protector and green graphic details.

Filmed and edited in his home town of Sydney by the master that is Dom West, it doesn’t feature a whole lot of tricks but does provide insight into what CJ has been up to in 2015 (including his serious hand injury), alongside heaps of spectacular scenery of Bondi with plenty of epic aerials courtesy of Dom’s new DJI Phantom Vision drone.

I don’t know about you, but it definately whets our appetite for the long-awaited Chapter II of Vine St. Bring it on!

The Box Game returns to St Kilda foreshore to celebrate 5 years of Melbourne Rollerblading

The Box Game

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLEgPaEYqrQ”][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]After a hugely successful launch back in 2012 (see the video above), The Box Game returns for its 2015 edition on Saturday, October 10.

Presented by Melbourne Rollerblading to celebrate their fifth birthday, The Box Game will see some of Victoria’s best rollers throw down for box supremacy with cash and prizes on offer for those who have what it takes.

Rock up from 4pm for the warm-up before a 5pm start. Entry is $5 if you’re planning on skating or free for those who just want to watch.

GAME RULES:
Highest score wins.
Your score is the sum of your five highest scoring trickster .
Only tricks that are held for the length of the box will be counted towards your score.

TRICKS ARE SCORED AS FOLLOWS:
1 point for the grind
1 point for each additional element of the grind, e.g. topside, backside, alleyoop, truespin, negative
No extra points for coming out fakie or rewind out
1 point for a 270 or 360 out
2 points for a 450 or 540 out
1 point for a half cab and
1 point for a fullcab (which implies you’re doing an alleyoop or truespin, which you already get a point for)
2 points for a 270 or 360 into a trick
2 points for a 540 into a trick

EXAMPLE:
Soul = 1 point
Topside soul = 2 points
Alleyoop soul = 2 points
Alleyoop topside soul = 3 points
Fullcab (fakie 360) alleyoop topside soul = 4 points
Fullcab alleyoop topside soul 360 out = 5 points
Fullcab truespin topside soul 360 out = 5 points
Another example:
Unity grind = 1 point
Backide unity = 2 points
Alleyoop unity = 2 points
Backide alleyoop unity = 3
Backside alleyoop unity 450 out (to fakie or forwards) = 5 points

SWITCH UPS:
If you want to do a switchup you can, and score points for both grinds. The switch up must happen somewhere near the middle of the box and the whole trick must still slide the length of the box.
Grabbing one footed tricks won’t give you any extra points but will earn you more street cred.

EXAMPLE:
Fakie 270 frontside shifty to alleyoop topside acid, 360 out = 2+3+1 = 6 points
If there’s a tie, the skaters in contention get three goes. The winner is the person with the highest score after three goes.

Don’t forget George Lane Bar for after party where the winners will be announced. Located in a private room with its own bar and skate videos on the projector. Melbourne’s Martin Gade shreds hard on one rail in his new edit for Circolo Wheels

Martin Gade Circolo

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/138919295″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]Melbourne’s Martin Gade shows us how much fun you can have one just one rail in his latest edit for Circolo Wheels.

The ever-stylish and technical Danish import has been on fire in 2015 and this edit shows off just how deep his trick vocabulary is.

Add to this top places in nearly every competition he’s entered over the year and there is little doubt that Gade is a force to be reckoned with in Aussie rolling.

Tom Scofield’s new street and park edit for Razors Australia by Thomas Dalbis is amazing

The newest addition to the Razors Australia family is one of the most stylish and technical skaters in the country today, with his talents (as this edit shows) extending across both street and park.

While a lot of the clips are leftovers from his recent profile for Wheel Scene, the edit still as good as anything you’ll see from Australia this year, with Tom’s effortless technicality front and centre.
