Manuel Billiris once again organised the ROCES Australian Inline Skating Championships (also often referred to as the Aussie Titles or Nationals) held in Sydney at Alive!Sk8 in Narellan. The competition was lined up with the end of the Annihilation Tour, a tour of American and Australian professional inline skaters including Jon Julio, Dustin Latimer, Josh Petty, Jaren Grob, Dave Paine, Beau Cottington, Jess Dyrenforth, Toby Heslop, Ian Brown, Blake Dennis and Sam Fogarty

Congratulations
to Josh Clarke who took out the 2002 ROCES Australian Inline Skating Championships (street) held over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of February. Josh was closely followed by Toby Heslop and Blake Dennis. Sadly, the Vert Competition had to be cancelled at the last minute due to insurance premium issues encountered by organiser Manuel Billiris. However - What resulted was a fun vert jam session where Scott Sanders showed just how strong he has become on the vert. Shane Yost (+ a couple of fellow Launceston skaters!), Brad Watson, Matt Raimondo (32#1#6), Simon Gillespie, Ross Daly, James Chuter, Zac Grant, James O'Connor, Iain Smith and Lindsay Barnes.....and others... also skated on the Mona Vale vert ramp. An invitation to the ASA Amateur Final in the US was awarded to Scott Sanders for his efforts. A BBQ, soccer games and a bowl skate session followed which were excellent with the presence of many amateur locals & pro skaters: Jon Julio, Dustin Latimer, Jaren Grob, Cesar Mora, Scott Crawford, Andy Kruse, Jess Dyrenforth, Dave Paine (VideoGroove) there as well as the Aussies ie the rest of the Annihilation Tour crew.

Sponsors of the Nationals this year included: ROCES, Alive!Sk8, Cozmo Wheel Company & Rollerblading.com.au. Special thanks goes out to Rhonda Patton (ROCES Australian Distributor for her continued support.
The top three in the Opens Division are all sponsored by ROCES...
