Greetings from Rollerblading.com.au!

Alot has been happening in Australian rollerblading in the 1st half of the year 2001 so here is a quick recap.
 
July saw the Last Man Standing street competition in Brisbane being won by Blake Dennis with the Best Trick awarded to Lachlan Burke.
 
June saw the following rollerbladers securing spots to the Planet X Xtreme Games eliminators:
- James Abdoo and Brendan Bloomfield (Street - Kuraby, QLD)
- Brad Watson and Kent Hodgson (Street - Geelong, VIC)
- Paul McGreal and Luke Savill (Street - Wollongong, NSW)
Sydney was also announced as the venue for the 2001 Planet X Summer Games December 8 & 9, 2001 for the main event (beforehand for the eliminators!)
May saw the following rollerbladers securing spots to the Planet X Xtreme Games eliminators:
- Brad Watson, Scott Sanders and Tim Hui (Vert - Vermont, VIC)
- Nick Jackson and Barry Marsh (Street - Perth, WA)
- Ross Daly and Brad Timmins (Street - Vert X Padstow, Sydney - NSW)
Also in May....
World Teams Challenge: Ian Brown won the World Teams Challenge! The doubles were taken out by Blake Dennis and Ian Brown. Other members of the Australian team included Josh Clarke, Matt Salerno, Sam Fogarty and Shane Yost. The Aussies came 2nd just after Europe!

April saw the following rollerbladers securing spots to the Planet X Xtreme Games eliminators:
- Adam McIlhatton and Philip Walz (Vert - Morayfield, QLD)
- Heathen Anderson, CJ Wellsmore and Shane Onus (Street - Tuggeranong, ACT)
- Andrew O'Brien and Scott Sanders (Street - Healesville, VIC)

And of course in April the 2001 ROCES Australian Inline Skating Championships went off and was won by Brad Watson (Vert) and David Wilcock (Street)! Over the past six months traffic to ROLLERBLADING.com.au has dramatically increased because we're committed to continually improving the site by adding new profiles / content, keeping you up to date on upcoming competitions and showcasing Australian athletes in the sport to the skating world. So if you're interested in contributing any photos or small video clips of Australian rollerbladers (or visiting pro-skaters downunder) feel free to send them in. If you really impress us we'll even send you one of 32#1#6 Productions' videos. 

If you have a skater profile and wish to update it with pics, results, sponsors or any other details just send your friendly ROLLERBLADING.com.au webmaster James O'Connor an email with all the details. Another thing - lets get some more women into competitive rollerblading in this country!
