Canberra’s Rhys Bell has come into his own in recent years, taking out a massive win in the Open Street section of the Australian Rolling Open in 2014 in Geelong and second in the Open Street at ARO 2015 in Canberra.

Rhys has been skating hard for years, initially riding for Salomon, before hooking up with Razors Australia and VC Clothing. He is known for his stylish yet high-intensity skating across street, park and mega-ramp, with his success at the last two AROs reinforcing his place as one of the country’s top skaters.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMF7HIEsKd8″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]23-year old Rhys grew up between the nation’s capital Canberra and Narooma on the New South Wales South Coast. Proving there was definitely something in the water in the small seaside village, Rhys grew up with a tight crew that also included Aussie superstar CJ Wellsmore.

Eventually, Rhys moved to Canberra and has been living there ever since. He is a driving force behind Canthrax, a media and production crew pushing the Canberra rollerblading scene founded by Dave Jacobs. Rhys not only releases his own edits regularly, but also films, edits and photographs the best of the capital’s skate scene.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7HNddEPl7E”][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]When he isn’t shredding Canberra’s legendary parks or street spots, Rhys works full-time in a photography studio, alongside freelance work as photographer and videographer for music videos, magazines and corporate work. He is also a keen surfer and plays guitar in blues/hip-hop crossover band called Made By Mandy.

For more of Rhys’ work, check out his YouTube channel or the Canthrax website.
