The Joint Tour

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/123833560″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]The long-awaited video for The Joint Tour is now available for purchase at Sellfy.com for the dirt cheap price of only $2.99 AUD.

Starring Martin Gade, Chris Pullar, FX Levieux, Rob Ham, JB Gammagnac and Thomas Dalbis, alongside many skaters that “joined” along the way, The Joint Tour Movie is a 68 minute film that documents a 5 week rollerblading adventure during the European summer of 2014.

The tour covered more than 8,000 kms, beginning the journey at the Bling Bling street contest in Nantes, France and finished in Switzerland where the infamous High In The Park contest happened in Bulle.

It was the biggest skating adventure any of the crew had ever experienced and demonstrated the universal open-door policy that the world-wide rollerblading community is known for.

A tour like this would not have been possible without the positive attitudes of many. You will see these positive vibes shine through in the film that documented the adventure from beginning to end.

The movie features park and street sections, lifestyle sections as well as interviews with the skaters present on tour.

Alongside the six Aussie and French skaters on the tour, the film, directed by Thomas Dalbis, also features Julien Cudot, Michel Prados, Carlos Bernal, Roman Abrate, Daniel Skerzn, Jeremy Dalbis, Josh Nielsen, Hadrien Bastouille, Fredje Vanovertveldt, Chris Smith, Mathieu Heinemann, Greg Breger, Damien Gerard, Diego Luppi and many, many more.

With most VOD sections charging a premium for only a few short minutes, it’s refreshing to see such a long film for less than the cost of a beer down the pub!

Pick up your high-res copy of The Joint Tour Movie for $2.99AUD at sellfy.com/p/0F9u and stay tuned for the full review and picture special at rollerblading.com.au very soon![/vc_column_text][mk_image src=”http://www.rollerblading.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/10426158_10154333692765006_1794892920374120795_n.jpg” image_width=”800″ image_height=”450″ crop=”false” lightbox=”false” frame_style=”simple” target=”_self” caption_location=”inside-image” align=”left” margin_bottom=”25″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Matt Caratelli drops edit and review of the Seba aggressive frames for Bayside Blades

Matt Caratelli frame review

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/123479634″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]Melbourne shredder Matt Caratelli has just dropped an online edit and review of Seba’s aggressive frames for Bayside Blades.

Alongside some killer skating at St Kilda, Yea and Newport parks, Matt has plenty of nice things to say about the Seba frames, which were launched in conjunction with the CJ Wellsmore pro model skates last year.

Matt said while the frames were heavier than the last frames he was riding, they were much more solid. The side H-block groove meant they have great centre of gravity for H-block tricks, meaning he can lean back on tricks and landings a bit more than usual and helped him air more on ramps/bowls. The downside was he had a reduced turning circle.

The frames are slightly wider than others on the market, which helped with cess slides and meant you couldn’t wear your wheels down as far. He also noted that he previously rode medium frames on a small boot, but compared to his previous frames, the length was definitely noticeable.

The Seba Frames are available in Australia now via Bayside Blades.

Filmed by Kev San Jose, Brad Struzycki and Mark Kowald.

Australia features in Michael Pedersen’s new video of his global travels

Michael Pederson

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/123294012″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]Denmark’s Michael Pedersen has dropped an awesome edit of his global travels, beginning right here in Australia four years ago.

From wild adventures to serious injuries, a lot happened to Michael in his time on the road.

Here is what he had to say about the trip:

“Four years ago, I went on a airplane to Australia, right after the Danish rollerblading competition (PonyCup) and thats where my travels around the world started. After a couple of months in Australia I went back to Europe, stayed there for a while, before going to The United states of America.

“Later that year I had a terrible accident, falling head first 6m down, but i survived and two weeks later I was standing in South America, which was one of my best travel experience ever and the year after I went to South Africa. In between my travels I always went back to the lovely city of Copenhagen, but now I’m living in the South of Europe.

“So now, four years later, I’m back in Denmark, for the last PonyCup competition and ready with my video with rollerblading moves from all the continents around the world except Asia, but hopefully I’m going there later this year.

“I would like to say thanks to everybody who have inspired and helped me on the road. Either picking my up in cars and drive around and for letting me crash on your couches and for teaching me about life and for all the fun times. I couldn’t have done this without my amazing friends. I really appreciate it!”

Filmed in 5 continents: Europe, Australia, South Africa, South America and The United States of America.

Cities: Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Lima, Quito, Johannesburg, New York, Long Beach, Copenhagen, Roskilde, Skagen, Esbjerg, Aalborg, Aarhus, Nykøbing Falster, Eskilstuna, London, Berlin, Glasgow, Amsterdam and Lisbon.

Sponsored by 4Sqair Australia, Seba, VC Clothing and Brisbane Rollerbladers, the day served as a fundraiser for the upcoming Queensland Titles 2015 on April 4 at Fairfield Skate Park – as well as a fun day out for the Brissie rolling scene.

Paulie Haack took out the Open section, while Tom Dobson ripped in the Under-20s and Chris Morris No.1 in the Over-30s.

Big shout outs to Nat Rawlings for organising the day, Roger Cole and Luke Trounce on MC duties and of course, all the skaters on the day.

Destroying both street and park from his home base in Melbourne, Gade has fast established himself as one of the best skaters in Australia in recent times.

From taking out first place in the Victorian Inline Titles 2015 and the Australian Rolling Open 2013 (plus third place last year), to shredding every park and rail that Melbourne has to offer, it’s clear this stylish and technical skater is at the top of his game.

If you need any more proof, check out this killer edit filmed across Melbourne and Hobart in the Razors SL2s.

Kal Crew drops awesome park edit from Tom Scofield in his new home in Melbourne

Tom Scofield

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/120527483″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]In 2014 Tom Scofield relocated from Wellington in New Zealand to Melbourne for a change in lifestyle and to experience the Australian rolling scene first hand.

Since his arrival he has seamlessly integrated into the Melbourne Rollerblading crew; the local characters he has watched through Aussie rolling media have now become his close friends, and he has been killing the game.

Since making the move, he’s taking out second place at the 2014 Australian Rolling Open, second at the Victorian Titles at held at his local park in Prahran, and you can see him getting better and better at every session.

Now representing Square Wheels from his homeland of New Zealand, and his new Australian sponsor Velvet Couch Clothing, Tom is a very welcome addition to the family.

Be sure to keep an eye out for his upcoming street edit!
